I split my time about equally these days between Uganda (Kabale/Lk. Bunyonyi) and the Czech Republic (Prague). Here are a few spots on the Blue Planet that really turn me on… ~ ANYWHERE on Earth in the Path of Totality! …a Total Solar Eclipse – simply the most beautiful and awesome of all nature’s spectacles. ~ Itambira Island, Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda …in a dugout canoe under a full moon – this place is true African splendor. (When there’s no eclipse to be found, this is where I always want to be!) ~ The North Woods of Central Park (NYC) …lighting one up during the first snow of winter in the greatest urban park on Earth! ~ Mundo Perdido (Lost World Pyramid), Tikal, Guatemala …laying on the cool stone staring at the sky – in solitude, where even the Temple IV throngs are barely audible. ~ The Zocalo, Oaxaca, Mexico …eating mole in the evening, on an upstairs restaurant balcony overlooking the plaza. ~ The Lone Tree Field, Caumsett State Park, Long Island, New York …an undeveloped oasis and place of dreams, on the island’s north shore – simply impossible that Manhattan is only 30 minutes away. ~ Yangshou, China …cycling through the dreamy karst landscape, then floating back to town on the splendid River Li ~ The Cochise Stronghold, Southeastern Arizona …scaling the radiant stonghold walls at midnight, under a glorious full moon. ~ Antelope Canyon, Northeastern Arizona …awash in a kaleidoscope of color, inside a gash in the land hundreds of meters long, and no wider than my outstretched arms. ~ Okavango Delta, Botswana …photographing hippos, lily pads & sunsets, as our poler slowly weaves through the submerged tips of 10ft hig
