Been to Lassen 3 times and I think it's possibly the most underappreciated National Park in the U.S. The hike from a parking lot at around 8,000+ ft elevation to the top of the peak at 11,000 ft is an amazing treat - above treeline, with Mt Shasta in the distance and best of all, anyone came make the climb or more accurately, long hike to the top.
