We completed our year long rtw last summer and had an amazing family year (http://web.me.com/familytrippers). Best thing we ever did.

However, already our travels seem old fashioned. This terrific group didn't exist for example! I have also just discovered that www.couchsurfing.org, which I was sure was just for sofa seeking young things, actually has a family community of 3500 worldwide, many of whom are happy to meet with and/or host other families. Wish we had known that earlier! Worth a look if you are currently on the road or are planning a trip.

We live near Edinburgh and are happy to act as hosts for any other families heading that way. It looks like a great way to keep the dream, and our memories, alive. The small but vibrant world of traveling families is very special. We have loved meeting others over the past couple of years and hope for more happy encounters in the future.
