About me
Lived in Saudi Arabia for 3 years, 1980-1983 and travelled extensively from there. Since then, raised a family, so travel was restricted but managed to get to France, Costa Rica, California, and numerous trips to Florida to see the grandparents. Since early retirement, we have travelled for 2 months in each of the last 5 winters. We spent 3 of them in Mexico, mainly in the Yucatan, up into Chiapas, and 3 weeks in Oaxaca. 2006, it was the Colonial Cities plus Mazatlan and the Copper Canyon. Last year, a week in the Bahamas, then 3+ weeks in Cuba. 2008 saw 2 weeks in Mexico, then a month in Ecuador.
We travel semi-budget – 2 & 3 star hotels, public transport, but will splurge and rent a car or hire a car and driver where appropriate.
