Semi-retired, but still teaching academic subjects half the year at a special academy which coaches students in competitive skiing and snowboarding. Have lead the local “Great Books” group for for 21 yrs. First visit to Cuba, solo, as a lad of 16, summer of 1959, in Centro Habana; second, cutting cane with the first Venceremos Brigade, in 1969-1970; third with wife and daughters, in April, 2004; fourth, solo, April-May 2006 and fifth, with oldest daughter, Feb.-March 2008. Sixth, one month, Sept/Oct. 2010 living w/ a Cuban family in far distant W. suburb of Habana. Sympathizes with the Revolution—though not uncritically.Recent activity
