Prepare to have stones thrown at you, spit on, robbed, and cheated in general. While I can't say that all Ethiopians are bad, I can say they are few and far between. Spent a month cycling from the south to the north. Spent a lot of time living amongst the locals, and although the scenery was nice, we had some major problems. Children on the roadside would spit and throw stones at us, both while we here cycling or just walking around town. Happened pretty much any where we went. Talked to other cyclists I met, and they had similar if not worse experience. One was knocked off his bike by a rock striking him on the head. This is the only country that I have ever had this kind treatment, and I am fairly well travelled, and would like to think I am a considerate traveler.
