Many thanks to you all--I'm very much looking forward to a miniature glimpse of greater Kathmandu.

About me
I am a proud polyglot, translator, editor, and writer. I’m not a long-haul traveler (I get sick of living out of a suitcase after six weeks), and prefer mid-range travel to backpacker-basic or boring luxury. Nowadays, I am fortunate (or unfortunate?) to spend a few weeks a year on business in Asia, and I try to tack side trips or short jaunts onto as many of these voyages as I can. My wife and I also like to spend a couple of weeks traveling purely for pleasure at least every other year. So my trips are generally either short or preposterously short, but as well-researched and culturally rich as possible. At home, I reside happily in what I consider the most beautiful city in the US. I used to live in Thailand, and still consider it a second home. I speak and read Thai fluently, and am happy to answer language questions. I’m also a translator, so if you’ve got a Thai document you want translated into English, drop me a line.Recent activity
