About me
Have explored mainland China, with a brief foray into teaching Crazy English; In Vietnam, I relaxed on the island of Phu Quoc, rode the train, and navigated the streets of Saigon; My son and I drove an old Ford Tempo from Northern Canada to Mexico one Spring break (there and back in 8 days

) I have camped on the beaches of Hawaii, driven all over the US, and hitchiked across Canada twice. My son and I limped around Venezuela and Northern Brazil in a van with a crazy woman who threatened to drop us off in the middle of the Grand Sabanna. In Panama, I stayed on the tiny island of Tobago, watching the ships come in. I’ve driven up to the Northwest Territories, where people drive on ice roads in the winter, and I’ve eaten the most exquisite food in France, holding my nose for the stink of the cheeses! My most recent highlight was a day in Tokyo, at the Modern Art Museum, where I discovered the heated musical toilets, and thus tried out the exquisite bathrooms on all 5 floors. Next destination? Alaska’s Aleutian Islands, Myanmar, India
