About me

I have travelled extensively and eaten in local restaurants and hotels it occurred to me that I would have a better time eating with local people when i stayed with a family in Fiji for a couple of nights and I was given a real insight into their way of life and ate the best food I have ever tasted!
I took my idea to my family and my daughter’s boyfriend came on board to do the design and we found someone on the net willing to take his chances and join us as he agreed eating with local people would enhance travellers experiences. We are at the position now of having a working site lacking hosts. We need people to join up and agree to cook for travellers.
We truly believe this way of dining will change the way we enjoy our meals on holiday forever.

There is soon to be an option on www.eatwithalocal.com to charge a nominal sum to provide the meal for your visitor. The recession in Britain and all over the world is biting into everyone's income, it seemed the way forward, offering cheap good food to travellers and hosts covering the cost of the ingredients. The site is still free to use and join.

Hi everyone, I have just come back from India where I met up with www.eatwithalocal.com member Meghana and her husband Parish. They hosted me. Meghana cooked me local dishes, afterwards they took me to Colva beach and we sipped cocktails watching the sun set. Meghana advised me of the best places to shop, where to get good clothes made up, good beaches. I have invited them back to Wales to sample 'lava bread and bacon' the Welsh equivalent of caviar!
