I thought i’d sign up to Lonely Planet to meet anyone with similar plans to mine for a round the world trip in late 2011, as i’m travelling alone! I’m a 22 year old male, from Leeds in the UK and extremely laid back and easy to get along with(i’d like to think so anyway). I live life to the extreme, and constantly have to remind myself you only live once which is why i’ve decided to go ahead and plan this little adventure.

Hopefully, if I’ve saved up sufficient funds I want to quit my job and leave the UK in October/November 2011 for around 6 months. Obviously as its over a year before I plan to leave my idea’s are very basic but this is roughly what I aim to do:

RTW Flight with stops at Hong Kong, Beijing, Bangkok, Australia, North & South America.

Whilst i’m in these countries I’ll be travelling by train/planes & automobiles to various neighbouring countries.

- Hong Kong & Beijing will involve little onwards travel, apart from major tourist sights(great wall etc).

- Bongkok – Overnight trains to Cambodia, Laos & Viet Nam.

- Australia – Oz experience pass for travel around the country on busses.

– Internal flights to New Zeeland & Fiji

- North & South America – Nothing planned yet but I have plenty of time to sort that out. Obviously i’d love to see the main cities such as NY & LA.

If anyone has similar ideas to mine, and fancy having a chat and possible meeting up for parts if not all the journey get in touch.
