About me

I’m an American who moved to Moscow, Russia over six years ago. I work as a freelance teacher, teaching business, English, history and other subjects. I enjoy photography and writing. I also enjoy exploring and making new discoveries around Moscow. My blog is about my life here, my work and different sites around Moscow that most foreigners know nothing about. For example, the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in the Moscow Kremlin is now open for tours. This bell tower for many years was the tallest building in Moscow and the view from this bell tower is really something else, yet when me and my wife took the tour, we were the only two, nobody else. The guide said it was like this, hardly anybody takes this tour because they do not know the bell tower is open now. As far as I know, besides my blog, the only other web page that mentions this bell tower being open is the Kremlin web page itself. People are really missing out on seeing a fantastic view of the Kremlin from this bell tower, all because they do not bother looking at the Kremlin web page. It is sites like this that my blog will concentrate on, sites that foreigners know nothing about. Sure, the Kremlin, Red Square, St. Basil’e should not be missed, but there is alot more to Moscow than just the Kremlin and Red Square.

Moscow is the largest city in Europe and there is so much to see and do in this wonderful city, much which you can see the true Russian spirt and meet real Russians besides the tourist trap atmosphere that the major sites tend to have. I came to Moscow in 2003 and feel in love with the city and her people and I’m an old southwest Georgia conservative who worked to get Ronald Regean elected twice, the best modern president the US ever had, so do not try to say I’m some liberal socialist, I am not.

I'm an American who has been living and working in Moscow, Russia for the last six years, I just got fed up with democrats blaming republicans blaming democrats and nothing gets done to solve the problems in the US. I have a blog I've just started about my life here, my work, what I do in my free time and the sites to see in Moscow that are pretty much unknown in the western world. If your interested you can find my blog here: http://jondayres.blogspot.com/

If your a beer lover, you should try some of the Russian beers, the beer back home in the US is nothing compared to the beer I can get here. Go into a grocery store and you'll find beers from all over the world, but I love that strong Russian beer.

I'm an American who has been living and working in Moscow, Russia for the last six years and I can tell you that this part of the world that was closed off to most westerners for so many years is a fascinating place and the people are some of the nicest I have ever met, nothing like what I learned during the cold war years. I have started a blog on my life here in Moscow and this part of Russia and believe me, there is a lot more to this city than just the Kremlin and Red Square. If anybody is interested, you can find my blog here: http://jondayres.blogspot.com/

Novodevichy Cemetery is the most famous cemetery in Moscow, Russia, situated next to the World Heritage Site, the 16th-century Novodevichy Convent, which is the city's third most popular tourist site. It is where most of Moscow's elite are buried, this is the grave of a heart surgeon that I thought was nice
