About me

Aubrey was born and raised in Watford, about 30kms north west of the centre of London.


A Sociology graduate, he took a year off in 1989 to travel around India and has been hooked on global travelling ever since.


Aubrey attended University of Wales to complete his post-graduate Primary teaching qualification. It was here that he bought his first SLR camera. He has been addicted ever since.


After a year of teaching 8 year olds in a socially deprived Inner-London school, he hit the road again, spending nine months solo-travelling extensively through Thailand, Malaysia and The Philippines.


Arriving penniless in Hong Kong in 1991, Aubrey quickly found work as a teacher in a variety international schools. In twelve years, he travelled extensively throughout Asia and Australasia, including several return visits to more than 20 countries. He held several photographic exhibitions to critical acclaim at both national and private galleries.


In 2004 he relocated to Bogot

    Intro to Aubs

    It´s really interesting to see so many diverse experiences.

    Although I originate from a North London suburb, i have not been UK-based for almost 20 years. As an International Educator, I have been fortunate to live, work and travel on three continents. I am currently based in Dharamsala in the Indian Himalayan foothills, and home to the Dalai Lama and many Tibetan refugees.

    I originally set up my blog, "Ketchup with Aubs" for my family and friends to be able to track "my doings" so I was someone surprised it has wangled it´s way into Blogsherpas. Cool!
