About me

After walking out of university with a degree in literature, Anirban successfully ran a seven-year travel scam out of a reporter’s cubicle in a newspaper office in Delhi. His modus operandi was to sell outlandish story ideas to gullible editors, and then scoot off to far-flung places across the Indian Subcontinent in the name of intrepid journalism. His bluff was eventually called, following which he settled for an official designation as travel writer, and promptly legitimised his trade. In the past, Anirban has authored Subcontinent-specific Lonely Planet guidebooks and contributed to [Link Removed] That apart, he has written features for widely-circulated Indian broadsheets and magazines such as The Telegraph, The Statesman and India Today Travel Plus. He is also a published and exhibited photographer. When not living out of a rucksack, he cools his heels in Kolkata.
