Have travelled over the past 15 years through Africa, Australia and New Zealand, Asia and the Americas. Happy to answer any questions people may have as I really appreciate the helpful responses I’ve received over the years I’ve subscribed to the forum.

Heading over to Turkey in January 2012 for 6 weeks, to walk the Lycian Way and then make my way back up to Istanbul in the rest of the time.

Travel style

Like staying in basic but clean, safe and central hotels/ guest houses, and to travel by local bus/ train/ferry/shared taxi. Prefer fan room to a/c, and appreciate a fridge and balcony / verandah (but not essential).

Enjoy eating local cuisine and happily eat street food/ or grab stuff from the local market.

I like to backpack and see historical sites and enjoy cultural activities. Like trekking and exploring off the beaten track places using local guides, with a visit to the beach every now and again.
