About me
Currently living in Beijing after 6 months in Shanghai, Chicago is home.
Traveling solo has its merits. For the last decade I have been enjoying Costa Rica 2-4 times a year for adventure, nature and wildlife.
Though a main focus has been to take 3 weeks to explore a new country in Asia. I have enjoyed Thailand 5 trips, Simillian Islands, Vietnam (South 2 weeks) & (North 3 weeks), Cambodia (Angkor Wat), most of Laos ( 2 weeks), and the highlights of Burma-Myanmar (3 weeks). Most of these trips included renting a moto and going by the seat of my pants, and the majority of the time with no reservations unless at a Holiday time.
Recent trips since I got married in 2009, have included Morocco, Italy, France, Hawaii. We also enjoyed 3 weeks in Guatemala and also a solo trip to the Bay Islands Honduras for some scuba diving.
We also have enjoyed many US National Parks, mainly in the eastern half of the country, with a concentration on Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and the Smokey/Appalachian mountains.
Activities include, trekking, hiking, river rafting, waterfall climbing, scuba diving, fishing, surfing, renting a motorcycle, photography, and the best part, international cuisine!
For pics of all the places I have been lucky enough to visit, click on the link above.
Always try to give something back in your travels, especially to developing countries, try to visit a orphanage, a NGO, a Charity, or give to the local house of faith or schools.
Happy Trails!
