A train from Rockingham to the City takes approx. 40 minutes....

I also recommend Rockingham. We always stay there when visiting Perth, usually an apartment overlooking the beach next to the cafe strip....

In Western Australia you can camp on any roadside parking area as long as it is a minimum of 16 kms from the nearest town....

You'll love the Karajini, check out Millstream national Park. For snorkelling you can't go past Coral Bay.

Forget Cairns and travel 100 kilometres north to Port Douglas, closer to the Daintree and the reef diving snorkeling is amazing....
