I spent longest in Indonesia (about 7 years in total), India (1 year), the Philippines (8 months), Malaysia (7 months, mostly in Borneo) and China (8 months).
Indonesia included well over a year around both Maluku and (West) Papua, and some 9 months around Kalimantan – my favourite bits, as you might guess! ;-)

If your destination is Wayag, it makes no sense to charter from Sorong....

It is possible but difficult, and you may run intro trouble (like we did) for not having entered via Sorong and picked up a Raja Ampat...
