This year we will spend Christmas and New Years Eve on Mauritius together with my husband and my 2-years-old daughter. I would be happy about any hints and shared experiences regarding accommodation, activities etc. We will stay 2 weeks there.
Thank you all!

I was recommended this travel forum to share my experience with you all and I instantly joined it. I'm back from Mauritius and I would be happy if I can be useful to some of you.
Hi everyone! Planning to spend a week in Mauritius in the end of October. I read almost all topics and still have few questions.
1. Is it possible to catch taxi in Port Luis? If we get to the Port Luis on taxi from our hotel what are the options to get back? Is it possible to find a taxi right in the street? We may spend whole day walking around the town till late.
2. Is it too humid? I made a research and found out October is relatively dry. But I would like to have your opinion based on…
I just return from my holiday in Mauritius. I just wanted to share that with you.
I stayed at an acquaintance's place during my holiday so I did not have to bother about check in and check out at the hotel.
But I spent a lot of time enjoying around the island. Sea, beaches, attractions and the local people and their cultures. To roam around we needed a mode of transport and we approached TaxiMaurice for our outings. we are really pleased with them. They were friendly and professional in…
Hello everybody, so it´s my first time in Mauritius and I wonder about some sort of itinerary.

I´m not a beach bum, a day or two is fine but then something else. I love hiking but this year I have an ankle…
Next month I will come to Mauritius with my family to celebrate my parents 45th wedding anniversary. We are with 8 adults and 3 kids (6,3,1). We are staying in a nice hotel at the beach so would like to do something more adventurous and in a local/rural setting.
Since the activity should be suitable for everybody, we are quite limited in our options (hiking, adseiling is not possible etc)
We came up with…
I have recently travelled in Japan and Sri Lanka and found that most of the places I wanted to see are inundated with Chinese tourists. The average bus load make more noise than a plague of starlings and they push accommodation prices up by sheer weight of numbers. I would very much like to see Mauritius and am thinking of visiting this (European) winter. Can anyone advise me if I'd be heading into another Chinese invasion?
What are the best months weather wise for a visit?
