Hey everyone!! I really need your help. I am considering moving to Malta for a job I have been offered. I already have a job in England so it's a pretty big decision. I am just trying to find out more about life in Malta and what trade-offs I would have to make really. The clear pros I see are: weather, seaside, food (compared to the UK that is). The negative sides (I imagine) are: things don't work properly, it is small, public transport is unreliable. Also, potentially very hard finding a long…

I need to apply for a visa for travel to Malta, from London. One is supposed to request for an appointment from the Maltese embassy in London via email (email@example.com). I have done this but not received any reply yet. Any suggestions on an alternate path? The only other way I can think of is turning up at the embassy's door..
To my fellow travelers,
My husband and I are taking a 6 week trip to Malta this year with our 7 month old daughter. We have been weighing the pros and cons of renting a car but have finally come down on the side of renting a car, as we are staying in a more remote village.
Here are our questions:
- For this length of time, would you rent a car seat or bring one? There are cost comparisons, but what other factors should be considered? What certification should we look for on our own car seat to…
I am a UK citizen and i am engaged to a Burmese citizen.
My family lives on Gozo and we are looking to possibly settle on Gozo ourselves, find work and start a family there.
Due to my family already living there, i know that it wont be so hard for myself to get permanent residency. Although im not so sure about how the permanent residency will apply for my fiance.
Is there anyone out there who can shine any light on this? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
I have a ticket to Malta 17th of december and back home from Milano 29th of december. I haven't booked any hotels or made plans, but I have some circumstances I need to follow. I'm leaving Malta for Sicily and Sicily for Italy(probably Naples).
How long to you recommend staying in Malta? What is there to be done. And where to stay? Valletta or Sliema? And is Gozo worth visiting?
We will be in Malta in Oct. and are planing to use the local bus system. So far we have read that the system is fine. However people have told us that it is difficult and unreliable.
Has anyone used the system in the last 6 months and if so was your experience?
Car is a possibility but when we have rented in other countries parking etc. is a pain.
Your thoughts please.
Just a quick warning. My girlfriend got her phone stolen from her bag while waiting in the queue for GoldCar car hire. Thankfully someone noticed and she managed to get it back. The rental office is on your way out of the airport right next to the doors. I noticed a localish looking guy acting kind of shifty, and I just thought he was trying to jump the queue, but I think he was a distraction as the actual thief was a black guy with dreadlocks/braided hair. There was absolutely no security at…
Unfortunately my daughter rented a 'private' room from this couple last month, through airbnb; the private room was actually their tiny, cell like, windowless laundry room. She was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, and then to top it all the boyfriend ripped my daughter off for at least £204, if not more. Even after having been given the benefit of doubt he has refused to give the money that he owes back. Airbnb are dealing with it now, I am just clear don't want anyone else to subjected…
I am thinking to go to Malta on a really low budget (10-15 EUR/day). Yes that's really low, but what I can afford (only reason I'm going is because the plane ticket is basically free).
I am planning to couchsurf and camp if that's possible (I haven't read too much about that).
Wondering what I can do in Malta on that sort of a budget. It seems possible to eat really cheap, buses don't seem too expensive, but the tourist sites seem like a lot. I can see at most visiting one paid attraction…
