Vilamendhoo is a very lush, well-vegetated island that still has some sense of space. The beaches are narrow around most of the island, but there’s a big sandy area at one end, or both ends, depending on the season. The house reef is particularly good for snorkelling, and marked channels make it easy to reach the reef edge. The rooms are divided into three categories; all are air-conditioned, spacious, clean and comfortable, with a thin toupee of thatch as a concession to natural style. The restaurant has a tiled floor, a timber ceiling and no walls, so it’s cool and breezy. All meals are buffet style, and offer a wide choice of dishes, with theme nights for variety and several options for vegetarians. The main bar is the heart of the resort, and the guests on all-inclusive packages make sure it keeps beating. There are over 40 accessible dive sites in the area, including some of the very best in the Maldives. For non-divers there are numerous excursions, a tennis court, windsurfing and waterskiing, but no pool. Vilamendhoo is efficiently managed, but friendly and informal, and it attracts a good mix of visitors, mostly from Germany, Italy and the UK. It’s recommended for divers.

Resort Features. This resort offers both all-inclusive and room-only rates. Meals and beverages at onsite dining establishments are included in all-inclusive rates. Charges may be applied for dining at some restaurants, special dinners and dishes, some beverages, and other amenities. The resort has a private beach. Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa features a beach bar, a poolside bar, and a snack bar/deli. Room service is available during limited hours. Recreational amenities include 2 outdoor swimming pools. Also located on site are a children's pool, an outdoor tennis court, and a fitness facility.
