Just a heads-up: the journey from Melaka Sentral (main bus station) to the Heritage district is either expensive (a taxi costs RM30, twice as much as the journey from KL) or horrible and time-consuming on the local bus 17. The bus 17 is very crowded so both times I have used it I was standing and crushed by others. And it takes a long time, partly because after leaving the bus station with a full load of passengers it goes to refuel, and this takes at least half an hour! All in all, my journey…

Hello all,

I've refined my itinerary a bit, and was hoping to get some thoughts on whether this is doable, and whether anywhere here should changed/replaced by somewhere better. The only flaw I see in this itinerary is that there is a lot of backtracking to Kota Kinabalu, but it seems like it's hard to do it any other way.

Day 1: Arrive Singapore
Day 2: Singapore
Day 3: Singapore to Kota Kinabalu
Day 4: Kota Kinabalu (snorkel tour to a nearby island?)
Day 5: Kota Kinabalu to Brunei (via Labuan…

Hello!

I am looking for recommendations for legit volunteer organizations to volunteer with in Malaysia. I have experience with kids (I am a teacher back home), with animals, and with conservation. Looking for something for 2-8 weeks, that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Any leads would be appreciated!

Cheers,
Crystal

Hi Travellers,
Could you advice me which SIM operator choose in Malysia to have like 500MB-1GB of internet for two weeks for not much of money like no more than 15 MYR (low-budget travel).
I do not want to have any phone connection in it, just internet with max 1 GB.

Hi there,

I am planning travelling to Borneo (via Singapore) from Aug 22 - Sep 9 this year, and am looking for some thoughts on how to structure the trip itinerary. We have 18 full days for sightseeing, hopefully with one (or two) of those days left to visit Singapore itself. My partner and I prefer nature activities (e.g. hiking) over city/cultural activities for this trip, though we don't mind some of the latter by any means — we'd love to check out KK, BSB, and maybe Kucing if there is time…

Hey

I'm flying into KL from Canada on December 26. I want to see KL, Batu Caves, Langkawi, Penang, Malacca (Melaka) and Cameron Highlands for sure. I will avoid the East Coast due to the climate.

Once I arrive in Malaysia, should I go to Malacca (Melaka) first for 2-3 days and then go to KL for New Year's Eve? I don't want to spend more than 2-3 days in KL but really wanna spend New Year's there. Any other tips where to go after arrival that brings me back to KL for New Year's?

I have 26…
