I will be spending my honeymoon in Malaysia next year. I have spent 6 six weeks in Malaysia in the past and loved it, so we're heading back there for the honeymoon.
In any case, I was looking to Thorn Tree for some much needed inspiration, as the last time we went to the country we were very much slumming it! We have 3 weeks on our honeymoon. I'm planning to spend a 4-5 days in KL, & 4-7 days on the Perenthian Islands. And the rest of the days - I'm not yet sure!
I was wondering if…
I'm thinking about a trip to Malaysia & Indonesia in April, May, and maybe June. I'm curious to know if Monsoon season will be safety over by then on the east coast of Malaysia. I was on the east coast a while back during February, & it was not comfortable. I know very little about Indonesian weather but would like to see the country.
I've been in Thailand & Cambodia during April & it was swealty. I'm not sure if Indonesia follows the same pattern,
Much thanks for any info/advice.
Hi, I'm going to Malaysia for 2 weeks at the end of May. I've got 5 nights to spend in Sabah or Sarawak.
I'd love to see Orang-Utans and see the jungle area, but also maybe spend a day or two on a beach.
Which one would people recommend?
How early to get 102 Airport bus from Komtar on MONDAY MORNING, in March maybe busy traffic or rd works?
Need to be there 9am latest for 0955 flight hand bags only, would 7-730 am be enough time 102 bus used from the Northern Beaches

Our plan was to tray for a bus before 0730 cannot find a bus schedule anywhere online if fails resort to the dirty ,horrible, never have a meter taxi hassle,
Would be ten time more 40 RM yes…
Hi All- I have to start planning for a trip next year very early. I'll be passing through Kuala Lumpur on the way to and from Indonesia, and probably spending a couple of days in KL because I love that city. It looks like, with mine and my wife's schedules, we might have to go through there over either Thaipusam, Chinese New Year, or both. Are these major holidays, and do they make for travel headaches? Would I be better postponing my trip for a few weeks? If so, would it be noticeably hotter in…
My boyfriend and I have flights to Kuala Lumpur booked for late September and will be in Malaysia for two weeks. We are trying to decide between the Peninsula and Borneo - any advice? We'll be aiming to do a bit of the following during our time: nice beaches, snorkling, trekking and, most importantly, excellent food!
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)
My medical situation has changed and I can't dive during this trip now but... I can still snorkel. Is it worth it still to spend 4 days in the Semporna/Mabul area? I have 10 days total in Sabah.
If I didn't go, I'd just replace it with a beach somewhere else. Any recommendations on that front?
Is it really worth booking a snorkelling package or should I just book day trips?
I've just joined lonely planet so it's all new to me
Myself and my husband want to visit Malaysia and Vietnam, we are thinking 10 days Vietnam and 5 in Malaysia, we've never been to either of them, and what I am asking is for recommendations on where to stay and what to do, should we fly to Kl then from there to Kota Kinabalu or straight to Kota Kinabalu and give Kl a miss, any recommendations will be greatly appreciated for both Malaysia and Vietnam, which places to visit etc. hubby is a scuba…
Canadian heading to Malaysia is checking websites on Visa on arrival in Malaysia and has found conflicting information.
Some say 30 days, others 90 days (although these sites have not been updated for 2016)
The Malaysian Embassy Canada website states that Canadians don't need a visa but does not tell us how long we can stay.
So if any travelers out there from 'visa free' countries for Malaysia can shed some light on the 30 or 90 day free stay, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks and happy…
Hi, my husband and I hope to do a 3-day 2-nite trekking in Taman Negara (camp out in the jungle or aboriginal village). We found a tour company that would provide a guide. But they require 4 persons for a trip... Does anyone know a licensed guide who would take on 2 persons for overnight trips?
Your advice is highly appreciated!
