I've browsed through the forums quite a bit, but the information seems either slightly old, or incomplete.
Here's my quandary: We are 4 friends (30s, fit, experienced hikers), planning to spend 7 full days in Sabah, in early November. Plane tickets are bought, so we can't stay longer than that.
The main purpose of our trip is to trek around the Maliau Basin (following this 3-day route, for instance). However, we don't have too much cash, and we're adventurous, so we'd like to do this as…
I am now in perhentian islands and i have visited the east coast of peninsular Malaysia already. Having 7 nights remaining (excluding 1 in KL) we were thinking to spend 4 nights in penang 1 in ipoh and 2 in CH, in this order. Do you have any other place to suggest in between? And do you think that 4 nights in penang are too many?
Thanks a lot in advance!
How are you doing...?

Are the parks and activities opening hours shortened on Borneo?
I am fortunate enough to be travelling to KL for work for 3 weeks in November. I will then be spending another 4-5 weeks travelling around SE Asia, probably Vietnam and Asia (itinerary TBC). While I'm there I'm keen to visit a cocoa plantation. Can anyone recommend any other…

Here is the plan:
Day 1 - Reach KL & travel to Langkawi and reach by 12.00 PM
Day 2 - Langkawi
Day 3 - Langkawi to KL (flight) on to Genting
Day 4 - Genting
Day 5 - Genting to KL (reach KL by 10 AM)
Day 6 - Full day KL (return flight at 11.30 PM)
I would need advise on what to see & do on the days i am spending in Langkawi, genting & KL.
We will be in Penang, this winter, for a few weeks and are looking for an area where we can buy our own groceries, use the bus to get around and just relax, do some side trips but have a great home base.
These areas are on my radar on Penang,

I've read that Malaysia is quite strict with the 6-month passport validity and I'm not sure whether it's from the date of entry or date of departure.
I'm planning a trip to Malaysia in early August, flying into Kuching from Hong Kong. I hold a Canadian passport but my passport is due in early February 2017. When I arrive, my passport will have about 6 months and 7 days left until expiry and I'm planning to stay for 8 days. Will they refuse my entry?
I have dual-citizenship so I thought about…
