Is there any way to enter Malaysia from the Andaman side of Thailand without going by boat to Langkawi or going from Satun, Thailand to Hat Yai. I am not keen on Langkawi and would prefer to walk across this border. How much difficulty is involved to do this?

Hello-

I am a solo traveler planning a trip in Sabah for 6 days in mid-July. I am really interested in a 4-5 day tour in the Kinabatangan/Sakau area (combined with usual Sepilok/Sun Bear 1/2 day tours). I have had all of the following lodges recommended to me by various tour operators: Myne Resort, Kinabatangan Wetland Resort, Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge, Abai Jungle Lodge, & Sukau Rainforest Lodge. I have to admit that it is hard to differentiate the trips. I am looking for something…

Hello everyone,

So my friend and I are coming to Borneo at the end of June for 3 weeks and we just can't wait!
I've drawn up a rough itinerary and would really love any feedback. Our focus is on trekking, wildlife (flora and fauna)as well as some snorkelling. We still haven't booked any flights (or anything else actually) so we're still really flexible, but we'd like to book flights asap depending on your feedback. Do you think accommodation should be booked in advance? Is there anything I've…

Hello everyone,

Would you please be able to help? This is my first post.
I am going to Malaysia and Singapore with a friend for two and a half weeks this August. We are interested in culture (visiting sights as opposed to museums), food, nightlife, nature, beaches and relaxation. We would like to see and experience as much as possible but at a nice easy pace.
I would be interested in some feedback on our itinerary please - are we spending too much or too little time in one place - generally…

1 week in KL

Hi all, planning a trip for in a years time to Japan, flying to Kuala Lumpur first for 1 week. Will be going with my partner, my friend, her partner and their daughter who will be 4. Wondering what we can do during the week without making trips out to Penang as we will be travelling with a young child.

So far the list includes:
Batu caves
Petronas towers
Petaling street
shopping (Suria KLCC, LOT 10, pavilion)

Hi,

Me and my travel companion are planning a trip to Malaysian Borneo: first Sarawak and then climb Mount Kinabalu before the last part of the trip where we have the choice to go to Sandakan, Danum and diving islands (Mabul, Sipadan or Langkayan) or stay on the west coast and have a lesser experience (I am a diver). We are planning to go in september but the European/International travel advice for the east coast is negative due to pirates, Abu Sayyaf. Should we take take the risk because we…

Hi, I hold an Indian passport. I'm planning to visit Malaysia & Sabah.

My itinerary is -
India - Kuala Lumpur - Langkawi
Stay for few nights
Langkawi - Kota Kinabulu
Stay for few nights
Kota Kinabulu - Kuala Lumpur
Stay for few nights
Kuala Lumpur - India

When I was searching online, I got to know that entry to Sabah requires a separate Visa even though it's part of Malaysia? does this mean I'll have to apply for a Multiple Entry Malaysian Visa and a Single Entry Visa for Sabah?

This may be a strange question, but we will have just 1 day in KL and I am trying to figure out how much money to exchange to have enough for the meals (average price in Little India, Chinatown, maybe Jalan Alor)
I know that the bus from the airport will be appr. 10MYR per person, the hotel is pre paid, so the rest is just the cost of the food.
thanks
