Hi everyone,

I've got a flight Osaka -> KL -> Jakarta next week on Air Asia (one booking). Does anyone know if I can buy dutyfree liquids (I want to bring some sake) and take it through the security check at KLIA2? Or do they make you surrender liquids again? I've tried googling, but so far no luck in finding out.

Thanks!

Cany anyone recomend a good budget hostel or location on Tioman Island? I'm currently paying only 35 Ringit in Sabah and assume Tioman will be a lot more expensive?

I'm an older guy so dont need nightclubs just a easy going location with nice beach and swimming and a beer or two at night with some wi fi thrown in ,

Ideally something between 35 to 60 per night is my budget , if Tioman is too expensive , are there any locations on the southern peniinsuar itself which offer nice beaches and cheap…

I'm planning a couple of days on the islands next month. I'll be going with my girlfiend, so am wondering which island to choose - the small Island, or the big one.

Also, can anybody recommend the best beaches, and views of the sunset? Also, I'd like to do some scuba diving, and try to see some monitor lizards on the islands, e.t.c. Any tips are welcome.

Also, is it possible to see turtles anywhere on the islands?

Cheers.

Hi,
I booked flights yesterday & arrive in Kuching on 17th August (2 1/2 weeks from now) &, rather naively thought i'd just do my usual 'turn up & see where i end up' thing. However, having just opened my newly purchased "Lonely Planet Borneo", it seems like this may be a stupid idea and i may actually need to do some planning!
My main goals for the trip are to see as much wildlife as possible & maybe get a few beach days too.
I had planned to spend a few days in the Kuching area then get a bus or…

Hello

This may have already been covered before. I am a young female solo traveller. I will be in Sandakan for 5-7 nights, primarily to see the Orangutans on one of the days.

I want to know what else others recommend to do in the City for a solo backpacker. I was looking at going over to Turtle Island but this looks a little out of my price range.

Look forward to hearing from you

I will be in Langkawi mid January next year and am looking for a good homestay or hotel which will not be too far away from the beach. I hope to stay for 3 days and then go to Penang for 3 days. Will this be possible and how do I do this. And read about Rumour Hostel. Anyone knows more about it?

We are planning a train trip (on Australian passports) from Singapore to Bangkok. Can anyone who has done this trip confirm that no visa is needed for an Australian passport holder entering by land from Singapore?

Dear fellow travellers,

Going to Western Malaisia in the next coming weeks I was planning to check Sumatra in the same trip. My plan was to take a ferry from Penang to Medan, and coming back to Malaisia crossing Malacca Strait... However I sort of heard that there were no more ferries operating from Penang to Medan due to heavy sky low cost companies competition.

Could someone confirm ? I am never fond of flying during my stays and would highly prefer the ferry.

Thank you all.

Gaël

Hi, I'm travelling to Oz in January for 7months but have arranged a 2 day stop over in Kuala Lumpur to break up the flights a bit and also sneak in seeing an extra country!

Does anyone have any tips on good things to do and places to stay while I'm there? It's my first time travelling properly alone so I'm a little nervous but excited. All help and advice welcome!
