It might not be quite up there with Hong Hong or Singapore, but Kuala Lumpur is certianly hot on its neighbours' heels in becoming one of Asia's premier shopping hubs. Take your pick from street markets proffering fake-label goods to the city's growing number of glitzy shopping malls (all open 10am to 10pm) packed with the real deal. Clothing, camera gear, computers and electronic goods are all competitively priced (although remember that both warranties on such products may not be valid when you return home and customs in your home country can tax you for importing them). You’ll also find original handicrafts from all over the country as well as contemporary art. Even the shops in the National Textiles Museum and Islamic Arts Museum proffer some good buys.
