    Penang is in KLCC.........wonderful

As we were browsing the wonderful array of retail outlets during dinner time at KLCC, hunger strikes and the feeling of gobbling everything in sight overcame us and a mad scramble to the information directory ensued. Like hungry caged animals, a fight soon followed as to where the best restaurant offers cuisines that caters to all our different palate needs. A name popped up that is unanimous yet discreet in it's presence. As all of us trundled towards the restaurant located on the 4th floor, we were pleasantly surprised as our eyes focused on an authentic colonial designed eatery that captures the era beautifully and in detail. As the waiter ushers us in, we were greeted with bright bathroom type tiled walls, wooden tables and stools and booths that seat 4 comfortably.

As our bottom touched the stools, our waiter magically placed menus on our table much to our delight. We were impressed with the choice of authentic Penang cuisine this restaurant has to offer from nasi lemak to mee curry and even rojak buah. The smell wafting through the restaurant made us even hungrier and we proceeded to order almost the entire menu much to the delight of the restaurant owner who was also there making sure the patrons are ateended to promptly.

As soon as the plates of food touched the table, we proceeded to gobble everything like a pack of hungry vultures. Every item was cooked to perfection with a balance of spicy hotness and cooling desserts filling our tummies.

A great pace to frequent and start gobbling again. Trust me

A wonderful experience for your whole family

We had to escape the heat outside! After hours of walking around the beautiful KLCC Park and peeking up at the Petronas Twin Towers, we made a beeline for the Suria KLCC Mall… it certainly looked inviting after all the hot air outside!

This Mall is full of wonderful eateries, from hawker food, to cafes and restaurants… to fit all budgets. We love food, yes, “we” live for food and our stomachs were just growling to be fed! With all the delicious eateries beckoning to us, it was extremely difficult to decide what we should eat.

That’s when we spotted it… Little Penang Kafe. We stepped in and were quickly ushered to an empty table. Quick as a flash, a waiter appeared next to us, ready to take our orders… this was fantastic as we were extremely hungry by now. This café specializes in authentic Penang Nyonya food (Penang Chinese and Malay cuisine). Looking at the menu, we discovered that the prices were really affordable… especially in this posh mall, considering we were a family of four.

It was hard deciding what to eat because everything looked simply delicious. We finally ordered a bowl of curry mee, chicken nasi lemak and hokkien mee (around USD3 each) and desserts like ice-kacang, sweet shaved ice sprinkled with crunchy peanuts and chendol, drizzled with palm sugar (USD2 each).

We were lucky because we were there before the lunch crowd came. Seated at a nice table near the windows, we could literally see the world move around us. The atmosphere here is simply delightful and we soaked up the whole experience, knowing we would be back soon!
