Lonely Planet review for Sagar in Bangsar Baru

The Bangsar branch of Sagar serves artfully-prepared North Indian food in convivial surroundings. There's a sister restaurant in the Hotel Istana.

    The Sagar experience

    agilan recommends this,

Sagar, in Bangsar Baru is easy to find, located along the other trendy restaurants on Jalan Ara. My group of 8 people were seated comfortably at a cosy corner of the restaurant. The general setup of the place seems to cater for groups of 4 or more and has a "family" feel to it. Unfortunately the temperature was to cold, with the air-cond turned down low.

The menu is rather lengthy list with all the typical North Indian cuisine included. The "mixed-starter" platter was rather interesting with lamb / fish kebabs and the compulsory chicken tikka to complete it.

The "kulcha" (stuffed Indian flat bread) was actually quite good - making you get another extra piece! The other dishes such as roti, rogan josh (lamb) and "jingga"(prawn curry were not bad but certainly not extraordinary.

Overall value for money, and although not something that will make you rave and shout, the food will certainly leave you decently satisfied. The atmosphere is idle for a for small group celebration or a family get together.
