Lonely Planet review for Kampung Baru Hawker Stalls
Saturday evening is the best time to eat in Kampung Baru, when dozens of hawker stalls set up around Jalan Raja Muda Musa for the weekly pasar malam, which rolls through till early Sunday morning. You can find all sorts of Malay specialities here, from ikan panggang (grilled skate) to rojak (spicy fruit-and-vegetable salad), and the night market positively crackles with energy.

Great food, great atmosphere
markbroadhead recommends this,
Malaysian food dominates in this area. Not many restaurants serve alcohol as the majority of customers are Malays. It is a family affair, with kids staying up way past their bedtime. In the market there are a few clothes and toy stalls, but mostly food stalls. I particularly recommend you try the murtabak. A murtabak is roti wrapped around some mince meat (e.g. chicken). See the image attached.
