An unpretentious banquet restaurant that should feel comfortingly familiar to anyone who has spent time in mainland China. Specialities include pork belly, fish (cooked in various styles) and streaky bacon cooked in a pot with dried chillies.

    The Lonely Planet intro implies this is a restaurant that not everyone will be comfortable in. This is crap as this is among the best Chinese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur attracting a whole range of diners from tycoons to middle class Kuala Lumpur. Prices are very reasonable. Specialities include the Char siew (Honey roasted pork), the belly of pork braised with salted fish in a clay pot, suckling pig sandwiches, the Har lok (large fresh water prawns in a thick soya sauce) is to die for and the Asam fish is very popular. The lamb or beef brisket (ngow lam) cooked in a clay pot is excellent Service is not great and a small tip upfront can improve matters substantially.
