Lonely Planet review
Established in 1896 and whiffing of colonialism, this is a great place to work up a sweat or keep the kids amused. Take lunch in the breezy checked-cloth-tabled restaurant, enjoying a range of samosas, salads, burgers and steaks.
There are tennis and squash courts, a gym and a pool. Daily membership costs MK2000, which allows you to enter the club and use the bar and restaurant (there’s a good buffet on Sunday lunchtimes). You can then pay to use the pool (MK500), play squash or tennis (MK250) or to take a round of golf (nine holes MK700). Equipment can be hired.
