My family and I are traveling to Malawi in a few weeks and plan to take the ferry from Monkey Bay to Likomas Island. We were hoping to continue east from there to Pemba, Mozambique.Does anyone know what means of transport might be available?
I am thinking about going to Malawi from 18th September to 8th October... I have made an extensive planning but still have questions and I couldn't find answers in the previous posts...
1) Lake of Stars --> Is it a must to buy tickets in advance or do I have good chances to still get a 3 days tickets upon my arrival in Lilongwe (19th September)?
2) I read that the Ilala ferry is running but only to Nkhata Bay. Can someone confirm? I hoped I could take the ferry from Nkhotakota to Monkey…
Do any of the budget airlines fly between Dar and anywhere in Malawi?
I'm aware that Fastjet fly from Dar to Mbeya, which would be the next best thing, but I'm hoping there might be something a little more direct.
