Itinerary

Day 1 Antananarivo

Madagascar's charmingly crowded capital, Antananarivo is a fun place to explore with its street markets, restaurants and romantic atmosphere.

Days 2-3 Andasibe National Park

The most-visited park in Madagascar, Andasibe National Park is famous for its lemurs but this tropical forest is also home to unique endemic birds such as the long-eared owl.

Day 4 Antsirabe

With the tranquillity of a small European town, Antsirabe maintains a Malagasy touch, which it reveals in its markets and traditional quarters.

Days 5-6 Ranomafana

Home to 13 species of lemur including the famous golden bamboo lemur, Ranomafana National Park is a haven for small mammals and birds, as well as palms, orchids and carnivorous plants.

Days 7-8 Ranohira/Isalo National Park

Isalo National Park is known for its contrasting scenery of deep canyons, crazy sandstone formations and open grasslands.

Days 9-10 Tulear/Ifaty beach

The busy coastal town of Tulear is home to the fascinating Antsokay Arboretum - a botanical park devoted to the conservation of plants from southwestern Madagascar. Ifaty is a popular beach resort with good snorkelling and diving on the nearby coral reefs.

Day 11 Ifaty Beach/Antananarivo

The largest city on the island, Antananarivo's French-colonial heritage is evident in its cobbled streets, impressive churches and colonial-style buildings.

Day 12 Antananarivo

Grab a window seat for bird’s eye views across the island on the way back to the capital – a fitting farewell to this amazing animal adventure.
