Among the cities you travelled to, which is your favourite and why?
It would have to be Buenos Aires. I think the thing that affected me most about it was the feeling that time had somehow slowed down, come to a standstill and was just starting to yawn and stretch from its sleep.
What's your favourite thing about each city?
In Singapore I really enjoyed a small island called Pulau Ubin; in Mumbai, it was the sense of humanity; and in Buenos Aires it was Recoleta Cemetery - a city for the dead which reflected the grandiose calling of the city. Kuala Lumpur felt like the only Asian city I've been to that really embraced and celebrated its entire people.
What was the weirdest thing that happened to you?
Having my bum grabbed on the streets of Mumbai. It was considered an accepted by-product of walking down the street, which really shocked me.
Who was the most inspiring person that you met?
The artist Nicola Costantino in Buenos Aires who not only made me laugh but changed my perception about limitations and possibilities. In Malaysia it was the musician Reshmonu, who was gregarious, full of energy and saw everything with almost childlike awe - the way we should all see it.
What's the best way to meet local people when you're travelling to new cities?
By going to the places they frequent. Most people are extremely welcoming and open if they feel you are honestly interested in learning about where they come from.
Are you still in contact with any of the people you met?
Yes I am. Not in the way I would like to be, but that happens when you live at opposite ends of the earth. Thank goodness for email.
What did you take with you?
Apart from my camera and my polaroid, the most important thing I took was my excited mind.
What did you miss most?
I have a chilli addiction so in Buenos Aires I really missed chillies. Apart from that, I didn't miss anything.
What did you bring back home?
Lots of things - especially ethnic jewellery and presents for my family and friends.
What did you like most about the Lonely Planet Six Degrees gig?
Definitely seeing a city from the perspective of the people who live in it.
What's your idea of the best travel experience?
To get a taste of everything you can and to let the experience change something in you - as it should.
Which city do you live in?
I am a vagrant right now. I'm thinking of basing myself in Asia.
What's the next city you want to visit?
I've always wanted to go to Reykjavik - and I'd love to see Moscow and Prague.
Who would you most like to meet there?
Anyone. Everyone!
