The region is well linked by public transport to Vilnius, Klaipėda and other major towns, and Panevėžys is a major stop on the bus route to/from Rīga. By the time you read this, a hydrofoil will sail along the Nemunas River from Kaunas to/from Rusnė and Nida in Western Lithuania.
