The only public transport options to get from Beirut to Baalbek are the minibuses (LL4000, two hours) and an array of service taxis (LL6000) from the Cola transport hub. Be warned that the drive over the Mt Lebanon Range can be a white-knuckle experience, particularly in the winter months. Minibuses and service taxis both stop in Baalbek just down from the Palmyra Hotel. Keep in mind that the road across the mountains to the Cedars and Bcharré is closed due to snow during winter.
