So, I have an opportunity to go to Beirut at the beginning of August. It doesn't seem that this forum is very busy these days and am really trying to get a feel of how things are.
Yes I read the news and I read all the travel advisories ( No NON ESSENTIAL travel!!) but it's so hard to know.
People say it's safe and of course, no you have no idea when and where anything is going to happen. I've read that Balbeek unfortunately could be no-go. I only have just over a week, so IF I go…
I have a 3 week trip booked at the start of June to Beiruit. There has been recent updates on the smart traveller web page for Australia and Canada. Just wanting some real advise on the safety for westerners in Beiruit as of current.
Thanks in advance all feedback is appreciated
Hi all, I'm planing to travel to Beirut on Jun 1st for 5 days, anybody have idea if there is any interesting event or festival like concert, dancing, etc during first week of Jun in Beirut?
I'm going to be spending about 6/7 weeks in Lebanon this summer starting the end of June, to improve my Arabic at a course and see as much as I can of the city and ideally some of the country. I've arranged a place through AirBnB, and have my flights booked and course chosen, but in terms of traveling, I'd really appreciate some recommendations of places to see and visit, stuff to do, etc. I'm considering looking at volunteering a bit, but I'm quite keen on finding some good places…
Last summer I traveled to Lebanon and received a one month visa on arrival. If I revisit Lebanon this summer will I still be eligible for a new visa on arrival, or would I need to request one beforehand?
I'm planning a trip to Lebanon and keen to visit the Baatara Gorge. Is the waterfall likely to be active in May? Information online suggests it's only active during snow melts around March/April time.
I'm Judith, a french expat living in Lebanon since 4 years. I'm a rescuer for stray abused dogs and today i really need your help for a very special case!
Few mouths ago, i saved an abused dog.The dog is now named HERO, he is a 3 legged mix boxer.
He was horribly abused in Lebanon, he is traumatized and nobody want to adopt him in Lebanon because he is 3 legged ( because of the abuses!).
I never find any suitable forever home for him, except in the US where an amazing lady will…
Hi all, Since i'm coming back to lebanon after 10y, although spending only few days in Beirut, this time i will be with my wife, coeliac, so i'd be glad to get some tips about lebanese restaurants informed about coeliac disease and able to prepare gluten free breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Thank you in advance
I and a friend plan to do a 1 week backpacking tour in Lebanon. We heard that transportation is not easy to find and taxis are very expansive. We try to do a budget tour.
a) are there busses or trains from international airport to Beirut city?
b) can I go by bus the following places (how can I find the busstation/Name and so on...) if bus not possible how much a taxi might charge?
c) do you know hostels at these places to recommend?
day 1 Beirut
day 2 Beirut - Baalbek
day 3 Baalbek
