Lonely Planet review for Barbar

The granddaddy of them all, this phenomenally popular chain sells manaeesh, shwarma, pastries, mezze, kebabs, ice cream and fresh juice. Join the hordes of people gobbling their snacks on the street in front, or organise to have food delivered to your hotel or apartment.

    Saturday Night at barbar!

    ctdesign does not recommend this,

It was raining and it was Saturday.
My friend and I wanted to have something we don't usually have. We decided to drop Burger King and the like and try something local and nice!
We headed to barbar in Hamra Street, Beirut. The valet showed us where to park.
My friend ordered manoushe bi jebneh (cheese pie) with some vegetables on the side, while I went for a locally made burger.
The manoushe was here with a fresh mix of vegetables, we waited a while for the burger plate to come.
The manoushe was delicious and full of cheese, as for the burge it was served in an army plate with coleslaw, vegetables and hommos. It was delicious, though the way it is served can be shocking a little, but if you look all around you and see all the people dining just like you, you accept what is going on.
The food was nice and the people working there also, but the cleanliness of the store needs some perfection.
I even saw a waiter finishing a plate after a customer.
All in all, it is a nice experience, especially if you want to cool down nd away from etiquette restaurants and sophisticated Beiruti people!!

    Whatever your tastebuds desire

    kromberg recommends this,

Barbar's variety and quantity of quality food is stunning. There is something for everyone. Guaranteed to be crowded at lunchtime, but that tells you it's good. Satisfies your hunger without lightening your wallet too much.
