Lonely Planet review
In keeping with the Lebanese love of all things stylish, this hotel is splendid - and definitely a cut above the usual Crowne Plaza - but with all of the expected facilities and an unbeatable address in the heart of the Hamra.
This contemporary hotel (built in 2002), is a plush affair with lots of marble, rich fabrics, copious fresh flowers and flattering lighting (a Beirut specialty). The Deluxe and Superior rooms are the same size - extremely spacious and comfortable with lovely warm tones - but Superiors are situated on the 9th floor upwards and have fabulous views over the city and sea. The Executive rooms are something special - almost like mini apartments with polished wood floors, an espresso machine, check in/out at the 19th floor Club Lounge, free Internet access, and very special views of the sea and coast. Red Earth toiletries and well-stocked mini-bars are nice touches as well, and the service is first rate. The Top 21 restaurant offers awesome panoramic views and tables set around the hotel pool.
