Lonely Planet review
You’ll either adore or abhor this funky hostel set in a charming 18th-century wooden house with lime-green trim. The whole place feels like a second-hand store, from the kitschy knick-knack shop used as the reception, to the 20-plus rooms stuffed to the brim with rock memorabilia, dusty oriental rugs, bright tile mosaics, Soviet propaganda and anything else deemed appropriately offbeat. There’s a communal kitchen and chill-out space in the basement. Some rooms are located in a second wooden house out the back.
Our independent authors have visited Fontaine Hotel and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Liepāja.
