    Stay away if you don't want to get cheated

    I bought a sapphire and gold ring at Bari's Jewellery in Vientiane last month. The owner himself, Mr Bari, told me the stone was natural and that the gold was 18k. I recently had it checked by my friend, a jeweller himself, and he informed me that the ring was fake. The stone is manmade, and the gold is plated. It is worth nothing! I was so shocked as I was told this was a reputable shop that has been established in Vientiane for over 30 years! I have since contacted the tourist police in Vientiane as well as VISA to stop the payment and make the necessary investigation into the purchase. Please do not be fooled by its long-standing reputation. if you have bought from Bari's Jewellery, I'd strongly advise you to have your purchases checked and verified as genuine.
