Lonely Planet review

On an island in the Mekong believed to be home to a powerful naga, this gargantuan monstrosity was built for the Asean conference in 2004, somehow managing to bypass Vientiane’s seven-storey height limit. It’s certainly luxurious and the views are great, but classy it is not.
