Lonely Planet review
The 10 duplex villas – seven riverfront and three set back around a garden and pond – are outfitted with gargantuan beds, indigenous wall hangings and runners, sumptuous open-plan bathrooms with dark-wood sinks, and well-furnished balconies that really do justice to the five-star views. They have an infinity pool and a beautiful restaurant, and run upscale excursions by boat and other means. It's 3km north of Champasak but feels miles away from anything.
Our independent authors have visited The River Resort and selected this as one of our recommended accommodation in Champasak.
