I'm planning to apply for a Thai Non Immigrant Type O visa at the Thai Consulate in Vientiane and need some advice. I have the application form and they ask "Please specify purpose of the visit". I've spent 2 hours searching the web and still have no idea what types of visits they are likely to approve and what they are likely to disapprove. I want to get it as a prerequisite or intermediate step in getting a one year Thai Retirement Visa which they say is actually a one year extension of the 90…
Fellow travelers.....I would like to take a 2 night river cruise - originating in LP heading South to VTE......any "Stops" recommended. Any particular section of Mekong to explore? Tips for choosing a boat?
I will be in southern Laos again next month. I would like to go the island of Don Kho, in the Mekong River, about 15km north of Pakse. If I ride a scooter from Pakse, can I take the scooter on the ferry over to the island? If not, can I rent a bicycle on the island easily to get around?
Has anybody been there, stayed overnight at a homestay, or have any other information?
Hello everyone :)
I am going to travel in Laos between mid July and beginning of August. Do you guys know of any meditation course that would take place during a week or so?
Thank in advance.
Hello everyone, I will be in Luang Prabang for 4.5 days, and think I can spend 2 days in Luang Prabang, and venture to another city, before leaving from the LP's airport. I was told that Vientiane could be given a miss, while Vang Vieng is mostly for party (if so, I could give it a miss too.) Do you have any suggestion for any region nearby Luang Prabang that I can incorporate into (maybe somewhere north)? I was thinking of going to Sapa but it is a bit too far. I prefer places with great…
Below a link to a motorbike tour done in November 2014. Start end of tour: Luang Prabang, duration: 9 days. The simple made report contains some information to the route, preparation and chapters for the daily route with picture. You don’t need to be a hard core biker to do this route; I made it by my own.
I've done a forum search but visa information is a year old at best and still quite murky.
So like the title of the post suggests, I'd like to know if a visa on arrival can be extended, and particularly in Luang Prabang.
Looking for advice (and cost estimates) for travelling between Kong Lor Cave and Pakse. 2 adults and 2 children (good travellers, 9 and 11). Cost and length of the journey need to be considered. A private car and driver has always worked well for us in other parts of Asia but look prohibitively expensive in Laos.
