This Australian-run place is a decent sunset and evening drinking hole (it does have the coldest Beerlao in town), and the Lao, Thai and fusion-ish food is very edible indeed. The garlic bread and prawn rolls are delicious.

    fantastic food and no tv's

    humblestumbler recommends this,

    stayed in vang vieng for a week, and ended up eating here quite often. the food was fantastic, and cheap enough for the lao to eat here too. the music was good pub music, set to a level to serve the ambiance of the moment. the hosts (mick and nui) are a mine of good information and stories. not to be confused with the aussie bar in town this place is a 4 -5 minute walk from "Friends Bars" toward the bridge. it's certainly worth a try
