Introducing Naryn to Jalal-abad

If you’re planning to travel directly between the Fergana Valley and the Bishkek–Torugart road, it’s possible to cut right across central Kyrgyzstan between Jalal-Abad and Naryn instead of going around via Bishkek. This route goes via Kazarman (220km from Naryn), a rough-and-ready gold-mining town in the middle of nowhere. The mountain pass to the Fergana Valley is closed from November to late May or early June.
