The appealing New Palm Tree may be a step down from the competition in facilities, but it has character and charm in spades, with all the rooms set around a fantastic roof terrace. The nets are variable and hot water can be unreliable, but the rooms are big, the bar and restaurant are well priced and it has the most sociable atmosphere in town, ideal for travellers taking a break from budget slumming.
