Lonely Planet review
A distinct Nairobi landmark, the Hilton dominates the centre of town with its somewhat dated round tower, occupying virtually an entire block with rooms, restaurants, shops and a whole slew of business facilities. Although it isn’t as atmospheric as some of Nairobi’s more seasoned top-end hotels, the Hilton remains one of the best deals in town for upmarket travellers.
Our independent authors have visited Hilton Nairobi and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Nairobi.
Description provided by property
Situated in Nairobi's central business district, Hilton Nairobi offers luxurious accommodation a mere 5-minutes' walk from Kenyatta International Convention Centre. It features spa facilities, 5 dining outlets and a heated outdoor swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers.
The guest rooms at the Hilton Nairobi are bright and airy, and feature authentic décor. They feature a flat-screen LED cable TV, a seating area with armchairs and a bathroom with luxury toiletries. Tea-and-coffee-making facilities are included. Some rooms offer views of the city or pool and some have a spacious patio. Guests also have a choice of executive rooms located on higher floors of the tower which provide for exclusive access to the Executive Lounge offering complimentary breakfast and refreshments throughout the day.
The Traveller’s Restaurant serves a fusion of continental cuisine and is decorated with leather suitcases and traveling accessories to resemble an old-fashioned train. There is also the Sale E Pepe Restaurant, which specializes in Italian gourmet dishes. Snacks and barbecues are available at the outdoor pool restaurant and bar. Guests can indulge in cakes, pastries and brewed coffee at Café American.
The hotel has stylishly furnished banquet rooms, an elegant ballroom and also features a state of the art board room ideal for executive meetings. Leisure options offered by the hotel include a modern health club with personal trainers, aerobic and Zumba classes, a heated outdoor pool, sauna and therapeutic massages.
The 24 hour front desk staff can arrange an airport shuttle to Jomo Kenyatta Airport, which is a 25-minutes drive from the hotel. Nairobi National Park is 23 km away. If you are visiting over a weekend, check out the Masai Open Air Craft Market, 2-minutes' walk from the Hilton Nairobi.
