Hi there~! I plan to go Korgalzhyn to see flamingo colony at Tengiz lake. I'll depart from Astana, around 9AM. I would like to join one day group tour bc traveling Korgalzhyn reserve without guide seems to bit hard...
So any recommendations? I found most tours offer more than one day tour. If u guys know some info, plz let me know ;)
Hi there! Does anyone know whether a transit visa is required to change flights? Both flights are on AirAstana. we tried contacting the embassy (didn't respond!), the airlines (said they can't help with providing this information!), and the airport (which redirected us to border control (no one picked up!)). we really don't want to go through the trouble of getting a transit visa unless we absolutely have to. If anyone knows and can share their experience we'd very much appreciate it.
I'm planning on visiting the Naurzam Nature Reserve in a couple of days or so. I can't find any information online about getting there. Ideally, I'd prefer to get as close as possible using public transport, and then walking, hitching or taking a taxi.
Any ideas anyone?
we would like to report a theft to the police but would need someone who could help us with translating Russian in order to do this. Is there anyone here who could help us with this last minute request? we wanted to go to the police station tomorrow (29th of July). We should have a car by then but need to go to a specific police station in the west of town.
Thanks a lot!
I tried to google but could not find the operating time for city bus from Almaty international airport(ALA) to city center. I have checked 2gis and citybus.kz app and it seems that I only can check the routes for city buses not operating time or frequency. Does anyone know whether I can catch the bus from Almaty airport to city in the night time around 22:00~23:00? Or should I take a taxi? I would like to know the latest information who's been in Almaty recently or living there…
Hi to all,
I am going for the first time at the begining of October to Almasty for several days and am wondering if anyone can suggest a good place to stay not expensive( up to 30-35 euros)? also which is the best area to stay in?
One more thing : I will also go to Shymkent to go to Turkestan does anyone know about a trip organized by the Altair hotel or anyone else there?
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Best wishes and thanks,
Hi! I'm visting Almaty with some friends, and we're having difficulty registering a Kyrgyz friend of ours with OVIR. She has to register within five days of arrival or go back to Bishkek. She has roughly 36 hours left.
We're renting an apartment, and normally we'd have the landlord do her registration, but the landlord went out of town on a trip and can't help.
Anyone here know someone who can help with this?
My friend and I will travel to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in august and we made a list of all the places we would like to visit. But we’re having a little trouble in planning the right route/order.
So we need advice on what the best route to visit the places below will be (fastest, easiest) and how to get there with public transportation (or budget tours) and what websites we could check for information about the public transportation (busses and trains), tours etc. all tips are…
we'll enter Kazakhstan by land in a couple of days and have a 30 day visa (so we are not using the 15 visa free days). Do we need to register in Kazakhstan in the first 5 days or is everything done at the border? If so is it possible to do it east of Almaty (we'll cross close to Kegen from Kyrgyzstan) or what are the opening hours of the immigration police in Almaty? We heard that they are not open all day long. The thing is that we wanted to do some stuff East of Almaty before heading…
Hi there! I just heard that you now need an actual bus card to ride the buses around Almaty. Is this true?
If so, how can you get one? And where do you get one?
I'm travelling with some friends from the US and we'll be staying in Almaty for awhile. I used to ride the bus all the time whenever I visited, just paying cash, but I guess that's not possible now.
