Getting there & away
Marshrutkas to Burabay village go from Astana bus station (900T, four hours, 9am and 11am) and from Kokshetau bus station (300T, 1½ hours, three times daily). Otherwise, go to Shchuchinsk and get a taxi (shared 150T to 200T, whole cab 500T to 1000T) or marshrutka (70T) from there to Burabay. From both Astana (800T, 3½ hours) and Kokshetau (250T, one hour) at least 15 daily buses and marshrutkas go to Shchuchinsk; quicker shared taxis are 2000T and 600T respectively. There are also about six daily trains from both places: Shchuchinsk’s station is officially called Kurort-Borovoe.
